Daniel Meech
Born in New Zealand, Daniel is a highly accomplished equestrian with a passion for showjumping that has taken him across the globe. His formative years were spent honing his skills and competing successfully on home soil. At just 20, Daniel made the bold decision to move to Europe, where he trained under the esteemed Dutch European showjumping champion, Emile Hendrix, at the prestigious Stal Hendrix in Baarlo. Following this invaluable training, Daniel joined the renowned Schockemöhle stable, owned by the illustrious horseman Paul Schockemöhle. Here, he refined his abilities and gained international recognition on the show circuit, achieving significant victories while riding horses owned by PS. After establishing a solid foundation, Daniel ventured out on his own, forming numerous global partnerships with horse owners. This journey has led to years of success at 5-star shows. To date, he remains the most successful New Zealand showjumping rider at the Olympics, with a commendable 12th place finish in Athens. Nowadays, Daniel runs a stable of horses located in the south of The Netherlands, where he focuses on his core business – producing and selling horses from young stock right through to established competition horses that compete at the highest levels. His dedication to the sport and commitment to excellence continue to drive his success in the equestrian world.
