Our adventure at Sunshine Tour for 6 weeks has come to an end. With amazing arena's and courses build by among Leopoldo Palacious and Louis Koninckx, our horses finished the tours with many positive results and lots of progression. 

Next stop: CSI4* Fontainebleau on 18- 23 of April.

Sunshine Tour is a wrap for Daniel Meech Stables!

Born in New Zealand, Daniel is a highly accomplished equestrian with a passion for showjumping that has taken him across the globe. His formative years were spent honing his skills and competing successfully on home soil. At just 20, Daniel made the bold decision to move to Europe, where he trained under the esteemed Dutch European showjumping champion, Emile Hendrix, at the prestigious Stal Hendrix in Baarlo.

Following this invaluable training, Daniel joined the renowned Schockemöhle stable, owned by the illustrious horseman Paul Schockemöhle. Here, he refined his abilities and gained international recognition on the show circuit, achieving significant victories while riding horses owned by PS.

After establishing a solid foundation, Daniel ventured out on his own, forming numerous global partnerships with horse owners. This journey has led to years of success at 5-star shows. 
To date, he remains the most successful New Zealand showjumping rider at the Olympics, with a commendable 12th place finish in Athens.

Nowadays, Daniel runs a stable of horses located in the south of The Netherlands, where he focuses on his core business – producing and selling horses from young stock right through to established competition horses that compete at the highest levels. His dedication to the sport and commitment to excellence continue to drive his success in the equestrian world.

Daniel and Ortolaan recently made a noteworthy appearance at the World Cup finals in Basel during the CSI3*, marking the first show of the year for the talented duo. Competing in the challenging 150cm LR class, they showcased their skills and dedication in front of a vibrant audience.

In the 150cm class, Daniel and Ortolaan faced a demanding course that tested their precision and teamwork. Despite having one rail down, they delivered a commendable performance that reflected their hard work.

This week Daniel Meech Stables traveled to Zwitzerland to attend the prestigious CSI5* Show in Sankt Gallen.  
World's best riders were competing including Swiss favorites Steve Guerdat and Martin Fuchs.  

It was a week with a lot of rain which made the riding conditions challenging, but this could not stop the team to jump into some nice results. Daniel and Ortolaan jumped into a 9th place in the 150cm class. Casalligo jumped a nice clear in the 140cm and 145cm class. In addition he jumped his first 150cm class with only one unlucky fault at the end of the course.  

This year the "Best Grooms 2024" awards sponsored by Beat Mandli were presented st the show. Here the nr 3 award went to the best worker at Daniel Meech Stables, Daniel's wife, Whitney Stinges- Meech.

Results CSIO Sankt Gallen

This week Daniel Meech Stables was present with Ortolaan v/h Ruytinxbos and Cassaligo at the LONGINES Pentecost Tournament Wiesbaden.  The heavy rainfall made the riding conditions  challenging, but it could definitely not stop the amazing ambiance from the show. Jumping in front of the magnificent castle backdrop in the Biebrich Castle Park resulted in a few nice placings for the team:

- Ortolaan 11th 150cm class and 12th 155cm class;
- Casalligo 9th 140cm class.

Results CSI4* Wiesbaden

The last part of the Doha Tour will kick off  this week with the prestigious "Sword International Equestrian Festival". Here Daniel and Ortolaan v/h Ruytinxbos will compete during their second CSI5* show. A new experience on the highest level of the jumping sport and therefor an exciting week ahead.

The first part of the Doha Tour is a wrap! During this last week Daniel with his mount Ortolaan v/h Ruytinxbos  jumped into a 9th place in the CSI5* 145 LR class. On Saturday they competed in their first CSI5*  160cm LR Grand Prix. Here they ended up at 11th place among worlds finest riders.

Now there will be a two week break for the combinations until the last part of the Doha Tour starts at the 15th of February.  Stay tuned!

Results week III Doha Tour

Week 2 of the Doha tour has already come to an end. Ortolaan v/ h Ruytinxbos and Daniel competed two times in the CSI4* 150 LR class which is a step up for the combination. A lot of experience has been gained and two placings topped of the week.

Next week the pair will be competing during their first CSI5*.

Results week II Doha

The first week of the Doha tour has come to an end. We can reflect satisfied with a 7th place in the 145cm ranking and a debut in the 155cm GP where they were just outside of the placings. 
Next week will start the second week of the tour. We can't wait!

Results Week I Doha Tour

This year Daniel Meech Stables will kick off the year in Al Shaqab- Doha. Daniel will compete with his lead mount Ortolaan v/ h Ruytinxbos at the two month tour to gain experience at the CSI4/5* level 150/155cm level. 

2024 starts in Doha!

Today at 1:16 am we welcomed our son, Jack Daniel Meech, to the world. After an unplanned C- section we are greatfull to announce that mother and son are doing well. 

Welcome Jack Daniel Meech

The line- up for the New Zealand team was announced today and we can proudly share that Daniel again is chosen to represent his country at the Olympic Jumping Qualifier- Group G. 

The top two placed Nations from the qualifier will qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024. 

The competing countries are: NZL, Australia, Japan, China and Chinese Taipai. This event will be hosted at Tops International Arena Valkenswaard on the 18th of July next week.
