Daniel Meech

Born in New Zealand, Daniel spent his formative years learning, training and successfully competing on home soil. At the age of 20 Daniel made the bold move to Europe to further his skill base at the renowned stables of “Stal Hendrix” in Baarlo by being trained by Dutch European showjumping champion Emile Hendrix. After this valuable experience, Daniel started as a rider for the worldwide known Schockemöhle stable owned by entrepeneur and horseman Paul Schockemöhle (PS). Here Daniel honed his skills and became international recognized on the international show circuit amassing some major wins while riding PS owned horses. From his time at these stables, Daniel then went out on his own, building upon everything that had taken place before. Daniel had several worldwide riding partnerships with horses and owners which led to many years of success and wins at 5* shows. Highlights include World Championships, Olympic Games, 1st place in the 5* Kuala Lumpur Championships, 1st place in the 4* Munich Championships and a 12th place Athens Olympics – (to date the most successful New Zealand showjumping Olympic rider).
